Dr. Julie Drolet is a Professor in the Faculty of Social Work’s Central and Northern Alberta Region in Edmonton. She is particularly interested in the field of international social work, with a focus on social work field education, disaster recovery and climate change, and immigrant settlement and integration.

Rafał Albiński

Dr. Rafał Albiński embarked on his academic journey at SWPS University in the year 2001, he received his Master of Arts degree in 2006, and later completed his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology with a specialization in prospective memory in 2011. Dr. Albiński has dedicated numerous years to imparting knowledge and expertise to students, teaching courses in methodology and statistics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His research interests primarily focus on prospective memory and procrastination. Dr. Albiński is a licensed cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist (CBT) and is currently channeling his efforts toward teaching students and treating patients at the SWPS University CBT Clinic. His way to CBT practice was paved by his interest in Stoic philosophy.

Marcin Rzeszutek

Dr. Marcin Rzeszutek is a professor at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw. His research deals with topics of trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and posttraumatic growth (PTG), especially in the case of struggling with chronic illness. He also runs an individual clinical practice as Gestalt psychotherapist.

Michael Ungar

Michael Ungar, Ph.D., is a Family Therapist and Professor of Social Work at Dalhousie University where he holds a prestigious national Research Chair in Child, Family and Community Resilience. His research on resilience around the world and across cultures has made him the number one ranked scholar in his field, with numerous businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and not-for-profits, relying on his research and clinical work to guide their approaches to nurturing individual, organizational and community resilience. He is the author of 18 books for researchers, parents, educators, mental health professionals, and employers, including his most recent works Change Your World: The Science of Resilience and the True Path to Success, a book for adults experiencing challenges at work and at home, Working with Children and Youth with Complex Needs: 20 Skills to Build Resilience (2nd Edition), a book for mental health professionals, and I Still Love You: Nine Things Troubled Kids Need from their Parents, an accessible guide for parents seeking to build their children’s resilience. Dr. Ungar has received numerous awards for his scholarship and contributions to his community, including the Canadian Association of Social Workers National Distinguished Service Award, and has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Ungar routinely appears in all forms of media and maintains a blog titled Nurturing Resilience on Psychology Today’s website.

George A. Bonanno

Dr. George A. Bonanno is a professor of clinical psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, U.S. His research over the past 15 years has examined how adults and children respond to and cope with extremely aversive events, such as the death of a loved one, war, infectious disease, sexual abuse, and terrorist attack. Professor Bonanno is known as a pioneering researcher in the field of bereavement and trauma. In recent years, his work has focused more specifically on defining psychological resilience in adults exposed to extreme adversity and on the psychological and contextual factors that might inform resilient outcomes.
